In LR I have 50 or so custom presets for different formats and different papers in different quality settings and driver options. The printer driver settings are not saved with the print preset. Not really an issue, I will end up figuring it out but this has been made unneccesarily convoluted. I guess that I need to select ProPhoto from the menu "view/proof profile" list and that then the program will take the ICC profile for each monitor and do the translation, but I'm not sure at all. Still am not sure about what to set for my dual monitors while editing, not softproofing. (BTW, It's so easy to mess up your color management in C1, you're always looking at a rendering that you must specifically select, the default using the profile that is set in the currently selected output processing recipe. There's no "out of gamut" warning when softproofing. No compare view with focus link, no stacking, no specific dual monitor support apart from dragging floating palettes onto the second monitor No Edit history! Some say to use variants (what is IMO the same as "virtual copy" in LR), but that's not the same thing. I didn't manage to import over USB directly from camera. File browsing again: the contextual menu "show in explorer" doesn't work. I really don't care about the day of import, what counts for me is the date of capture: I also access my photo folders from outside Capture One or Lightroom and it's a pita to open all these subfolders "27", "28" etc when your looking for a specific file. I really want my files automatically imported into the folder where all photos captured that day reside, like Lightroom does. In this example I have imported 4 times the same day, each import is in a separate subfolder, this one being "27" and the main branch is not the date of capture but the date of import. C1 imports from card are physically organized in folders by date, these folders in a path like this: C:\Users\Dirk\Pictures\Capture One Catalog\Originals\2019\11\5\27 and I find this extremely annoying because the files are not added into a "date" folder but each import has its own subfolder. Well, some are minor annoyances but could be sheer ignorance on my side, being e C1 newbie": On a related note - I've had quite a lot of success using a Loupedesk with C1. So I think you need to "bite the bullet" and fully emerge yourself in the new package - using it the way its Programmers intended. LR is LR and C1 is C1 - they're different and work in a different way. Personally I would recommend against going down this route. There are a lot of tips and tricks around converting from LR and how to make C1 behave like LR (and even look as close to LR as possible). Obviously this is a minor caveat as it is unlikely to be worse and they are offering a free upgrade if you buy the existing version now.Ģ. v20 is due any time soon and, as far as I'm aware, they've not yet revealed what it does differently. In principle I would thoroughly recommend it (although its not perfect against your list - or mine for that matter) but would mention a couple of caveats:ġ. I ended up with C1 and I'm very very glad I did. Although I realise I could have "spoofed" the EXIF data to fool Lightroom (after all the X-H1 has an identical sensor to the X-T2 with LR6 does support) I realised I'd have to move sooner or later as I'm simply not prepared to pay a subscription to Adobe. I was in a similar position when I got an X-H1. What tools would you guys recommend for the workflow I outlined above? I'm using a Windows 10 machine w/ an Intel Core i7 CPU, 8GB RAM, one SSD as system drive and one HDD as storage drive plus a NAS for backup, an a graphics tablet. It looks like Affinity's RAW converter cannot compete with Adobe's, and I don't know if Luminar's converter is up to par. I've looked at Luminar to replace LR, but it lacks a DAM, and I looked at Affinity Photo, but I'm insecure if I can continue to use my collection of LR and PS compatible plug-ins. I presently perform items 1, 2 and 3 using LR 6, and I'm reasonably happy with it, but as soon as I'd use any of the newer Fuji cameras, I'd need to switch to Adobe's subscription model, which I find inacceptable.
